Western Recreation Area
On 1 January 2012 the Parish Council entered into a lease with Brend Hotels to take over responsibility for the western recreation field. It is therefore responsible for ensuring that this piece of ground is kept in a good state of repair for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.
Fly tipping has been a problem for a number of years, particularly in the hedge that borders Sea Road. A good deal of rubbish has been removed from this hedge and Parish Council is working in collaboration with Cornwall Council's Environmental Crime Officer and the Dog Warden to ensure that this practice does not continue. Fly tipping is a criminal offence and offenders will be prosecuted.
If you have any concerns or comments about the area, please let us know.
The Parish Council has allocated £1,000 to plant a number of trees and shrubs in the recreation field. Planting was carried out by members of St Austell Lions Club and the parish council is very grateful for their assistance.
